The film industry is forever growing. Hybrid-genres and high budget movie are a must see for film fanatics.
Vicky Chessum, a student from Canterbury Christ Church university says: “my favourite film is ‘The Business’ as it keeps you on the edge, it is dark, dangerous and exciting.”
Everyone will have a different type of favourite film, whether it is engaging with the narrative, the visual effects are stunning or even enjoying the visceral and mental shock a horror can give you.
Vicky said: “Paranormal activity really shocked me, it was very jumpy and I didn’t know what to expect next.”
Films genres are identifiable types, categories, techniques and conventions that include recognisable patterns, like mood, plot, structures, content and themes. This is only a brief description of a genre. Here are some of the first types to be established:
